Alabama Auctions Daily Summary
Alabama livestock auctions that were held Thursday August 22, 2013.

Cattle Receipts: 2,884   Last Week: 2,722   Last Year: 1,967

Compared to a week ago: Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 
1.00 higher. All feeder classes sold 1.00 to 3.00 higher. 
Replacement cows and pairs sold steady to firm. Trade moderate with 
good demand on feeders. Slaughter cows made up 10 percent of the 
offerings, bulls 1 percent, replacement cows and pairs 7 percent, 
and feeders 82 percent. The feeder supply included 25 percent 
steers, 42 percent heifers, and 33 percent bulls. Near 31 percent 
of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
