Slaughter Sheep: Compared to last week, Slaughter lambs weighing under
90 lbs sold mostly steady to 10.00 lower while heavier lambs sold steady
to 10.00 higher. Slaughter ewes sold steady to 10.00 lower. Bucks sold
5.00-10.00 lower. Demand was moderate. Supply consisted of 76 percent
slaughter lambs, 23 percent slaughter ewes, and 1 percent slaughter bucks.
All sheep and lambs are sold by the hundredweight, on actual weights.

Slaughter Goats: Compared to last week, a heavy supply of good quality
goats were on offer in anticipation of the Easter holiday. Slaughter kids
sold mostly steady to 10.00 lower. Slaughter nannies sold mostly 10.00-
20.00 lower. Slaughter bucks sold mostly 20.00-40.00 lower. Wethers sold
mostly 20.00-40.00 lower on poorer quality offerings with instances of
50.00-70.00 lower in wethers weighing over 150 lbs. Demand was good for
all classes, especially lightweight kids. Supply consisted of 55 percent
Slaughter Kids, 24 percent Slaughter Nannies, and 21 percent bucks/
billies and wethers. All goats are sold by the head on estimated weights.
