Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, December 16, 2014

lambs destined for slaughter outside of what would be termed
as traditional markets. ***

   Compared to last week, Slaughter Lambs sold mostly steady to
6.00 lower compared to last week. Demand was good. Slaughter
Ewes sold mostly firm compared to last week. Demand was good.
This report does not include mixed lots of sheep and lambs.
Slaughter supply consisted of 79 percent lambs, 16 percent
slaughter ewes, and 5 percent slaughter bucks. All sheep and
lambs are destined for non-traditional markets. All sheep and
lambs are sold by the hundred weight, on actual weights.

   Slaughter Lambs: Non-Traditional Markets: Wooled & Shorn 
Choice and Prime 2-3  40-60 lbs 235.00-287.00; 60-80 lbs 208.00-
237.00; 80-130 lbs 180.00-227.00; 130-150 lbs 160.00-182.00; few 
170 lbs 107.00. Wooled and Shorn Choice and Prime 3-4 30-50 lbs 
345.00-390.00.  Wooled and Shorn Good and Choice 1-3 40-60 lbs 
220.00-265.00; 60-90 lbs 180.00-230.00; 90-130 lbs 160.00-197.00. 
Wooled & Shorn Good and Choice 2-3 110 lbs 128.00. Wooled & Shorn
Utility and Good 1-2 30-60 lbs 195.00-205.00; 120-130 lbs 110.00. 

   Slaughter Ewes: Good 2-3 Medium Flesh 120-160 lbs 95.00-205.00;
160-200 lbs 86.00-97.00; Utility 1-2 110-160 lbs 110.00-120.00.   

   Slaughter Bucks: 160-180 lbs 105.00-120.00.
   
   Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, Slaughter Kids
sold mostly steady to 20.00 higher compared to last week.
Demand was moderate. Slaughter Nannies sold steady to 5.00 lower.
Demand was moderate. This report does not contain information
on single head lots as they do not reflect an accurate market
trend. Reported slaughter supply consisted of 67 percent
Slaughter Kids, 18 percent Slaughter Nannies, and 15 percent
bucks/billies and whethers. All goats are sold by the head on
estimated weights.
