Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, January 20, 2014

Sheep/Lamb Receipts: 1913   Last Monday: 1873   Year Ago: 1697 
Goat Receipts:       2120   Last Monday: 1044   Year Ago: 1833
	
***Report format change: Traditional markets refer to lambs that
are subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through
mainstream outlets. Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs
destined for slaughter outside of what would be termed as
traditional markets. ***

   Sheep and Lambs: Compared to last week, No lamb report due
to the holiday shortened day. All sheep and lambs are destined
for non-traditional markets. All sheep and lambs are sold by the
hundred weight, on actual weights.
                       
   Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, slaughter kid
goats sold mostly steady to 10.00 lower. Slaughter Nanny goats
sold mostly 10.00-20.00 lower. Slaughter billies sold mostly
10.00-20.00 lower. Demand was moderate for all classes. Overall
quality seems to be declining as we get deeper into winter.
Slaughter supply consisted of 56 percent Slaughter Kids,
36 percent Slaughter Nannies, and 8 percent bucks/billies and
whethers. All Goats are sold by the head on estimated weights.
          
    Slaughter Kids: Selection 1  40-60 lbs 138.00-172.00; 60-80
lbs 145.00-175.00; 80-110 lbs 160.00-184.00. Selection 2 40-60
lbs 112.00-135.00; 60-80 lbs 130.00-146.00; 80-110 lbs 150.00-
152.00. Selection 3 60-80 lbs 98.00-120.00.

    Slaughter Nannies/Does: Selection 1 80-125 lbs 169.00-197.00;
130-140 lbs 167.00-192.00. Selection 2 80-120 lbs 142.00-170.00.
Selection 3 70-80 lbs 90.00-130.00.

    Slaughter Bucks/Billies: Selection 1 120-150 lbs 215.00-
255.00; 160-180 lbs 230.00-335.00. Selection 2 90-120 lbs
175.00-190.00; 120-140 lbs 167.00-187.00; 160-170 lbs 212.00-
218.00.
  
    Slaughter Whethers: Selection 1 80-100 lbs 220.00-255.00;
100-120 lbs 200.00-290.00; 120-140 lbs 285.00-320.00. Selection 2
