Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, July 29, 2013

Sheep/Lamb Receipts: 3047   Last Monday: 1987    Year Ago: 2029

***Report format change: Traditional markets refer to lambs that are 
subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream
outlets. Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter
outside of what would be termed as traditional markets. ***

   Sheep and Lambs: When compared to last week, slaughter lambs
sold mostly 10.00-20.00 lower. Slaughter ewes traded 10.00-20.00
higher. Demand was moderate for all classes due in part to
the larger supply offered. Slaughter supply consisted of 81
percent lambs, 10 percent slaughter ewes, and 9 percent
miscellaneous stock. All sheep and lambs are destined for
non-traditional markets. All sheep and lambs are sold by the
hundred weight,on actual weights.

   Slaughter Lambs: Non-Traditional Markets: Wooled & Shorn
Choice and Prime 2-3 50-60 lbs 133.00-135.00; hair sheep 139.00-
148.00; 60-80 lbs hair sheep 131.00-133.00; 100-110 lbs 132.00-
134.00.  Wooled and Shorn Choice and Prime 3-4 45 lbs 167.00.
Wooled and Shorn Good and Choice 1-3 40-60 lbs 114.00-132.00,
hair sheep 110.00-120.00; 60-80 lbs 112.00-130.00, hair sheep
114.00-130.00; 80-110 lbs 112.00-132.00, hair sheep 118.00-
130.00; 110-130 lbs 116.00-118.00; 130-150 lbs 112.00-132.00.

   Slaughter Ewes: Good 2-3 Medium Flesh 80-120 lbs 85.00-87.00,
hair sheep 68.00-87.00; 120-150 lbs 66.00-76.00; 180-250 lbs
64.00-74.00. Utility 1-2 Thin Flesh 85-120 lbs hair sheep 56.00-
66.00; 100-120 lbs 58.00-66.00; 120-150 lbs 48.00-58.00; 160-200
lbs 44.00-52.00. Cull 1-2 130-150 lbs 38.00-48.00.    

   Slaughter Bucks: 130-135 lbs hair sheep 78.00; 160-180 lbs
64.00-72.00; 200-240 lbs 46.00-67.00. 
                       
   Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, slaughter kid
goats sold mostly 10.00-20.00 lower. Slaughter Nanny goats
sold mostly 10.00-20.00 LOWer. Slaughter billies sold mostly
steady to 10.00 higher. Demand was moderate for all classes.
Slaughter supply consisted of 55 percent Slaughter Kids,
27 percent Slaughter Nannies, and 18 percent bucks/billies
and wethers. All Goats are sold by the head on estimated
weights.
          
    Slaughter Kids: Selection 1  40-50 lbs 94.00-108.00; 50-60
lbs 120.00-148.00; 60-70 lbs 124.00-155.00; 70-80 lbs 150.00-
170.00. Selection 2 40-50 lbs 64.00-88.00; 50-60 lbs 95.00-112.00;
60-70 lbs 100.00-114.00; 70-80 lbs 98.00-114.00. Selection 3 40-50
lbs 38.00-58.00; 50-60 lbs 66.00-92.00; 60-70 lbs 70.00-86.00.   

    Slaughter Nannies/Does: Selection 1 100-130 lbs 114.00-162.00;
130-160 lbs 126.00-150.00. Selection 2 80-130 lbs 74.00-120.00;
130-140 lbs 125.00-132.00. Selection 3 70-80 lbs 60.00-86.00;
80-120 lbs 56.00-97.00.
