Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, May 27, 2013

subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream
outlets. Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter
outside of what would be termed as traditional markets. ***

   Sheep and Lambs: When compared to last week, slaughter lambs sold
mostly firm. Slaughter ewes traded 5.00-10.00 lower. Demand was
moderate for all classes. Slaughter supply consisted of 82 percent
lambs, 10 percent slaughter ewes, and 8 percent miscellaneous stock.
All sheep and lambs are destined for non-traditional markets. All
sheep and lambs are sold by the hundred weight,on actual weights.

   Slaughter Lambs: Non-Traditional Markets: Wooled & Shorn
Choice and Prime 2-3 40-60 lbs 167.00-200.00, hair sheep 175.00-
185.00; 60-80 lbs 168.00-180.00; 80-110 lbs 162.00-168.00. Wooled
and Shorn Good and Choice 1-3 40-60 lbs 135.00-145.00, hair sheep
142.00-166.00; 60-80 lbs 140.00-152.00, hair sheep 134.00-162.00;
80-100 lbs 137.00-152.00, hair sheep 134.00-142.00. Wooled and
Shorn Utility and Good 1-2 40-60 lbs 112.00-132.00, hair sheep
118.00-135.00; 60-80 lbs 110.00-135.00, hair sheep 118.00-132.00;
80-110 lbs 112.00-132.00, hair sheep 124.00-134.00; 110-130 lbs
110.00-130.00.

   Slaughter Ewes: Good 2-3 Medium Flesh 100-120 lbs 56.00-57.00,
hair sheep 68.00-72.00; 200-210 lbs 48.00-52.00. Utility 1-2 Thin
Flesh 100-120 lbs hair sheep 40.00-54.00; 110-160 lbs 38.00-54.00;
180-200 lbs 34.00-38.00. Cull 1-2 90-160 lbs 24.00-30.00; 120-130
lbs hair sheep 28.00-32.00; 120-200 lbs 26.00-32.00. 

   Slaughter Bucks: 170-200 lbs 42.00-66.00; 200-230 lbs 40.00-48.00. 
                       
   Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, slaughter kid goats
sold mostly steady to 10.00 higher. Slaughter Nanny goats sold mostly
10.00-20.00 lower. Slaughter billies sold 10.00-20.00 lower. Demand
was moderate for all classes. Slaughter supply consisted of 48 percent
Slaughter Kids, 40 percent Slaughter Nannies, and 12 percent
bucks/billies and wethers. All Goats are sold by the head on estimated
weights.
          
    Slaughter Kids: Selection 1  40-60 lbs 140.00-150.00; 60-80 lbs
132.00-172.00; 90-110 lbs 170.00-195.00; 110-120 lbs 165.00-197.00.
Selection 2 40-60 lbs 100.00-132.00; 60-80 lbs 140.00-142.00; 80-90
lbs 132.00-152.00. Selection 3 40-60 lbs 47.00-75.00; 60-80 lbs
62.00-85.00; 80-90 lbs 90.00-115.00; 90-110 lbs 88.00-100.00.   

    Slaughter Nannies/Does: Selection 1 80-125 lbs 142.00-172.00;
130-150 lbs 135.00-185.00. Selection 2  80-125 lbs 105.00-135.00;
