Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, April 22, 2013

Sheep/Lamb Receipts: 3748    Last Monday: 2326    Year Ago: 1847

are subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through
mainstream outlets. Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs
destined for slaughter outside of what would be termed as
traditional markets. ***

   Sheep and Lambs: When compared to last week, slaughter lambs
sold mostly 40.00-50.00 lower compared last week. Slaughter ewes
traded 10.00-20.00 lower compared to last week. Demand was good
for all classes. Slaughter supply consisted of 80 percent lambs,
12 percent slaughter ewes, and 8 percent miscellaneous stock.
All sheep and lambs are destined for non-traditional markets.
All sheep and lambs are sold by the hundred weight,on actual
weights.

Choice and Prime 2-3 40-50 lbs 160.00-185.00, hair sheep 155.00-
176.00; 50-70 lbs 154.00-180.00, hair sheep 162.00-164.00; 70-80
lbs 142.00-158.00, hair sheep 150.00-156.00; 90-110 lbs 158.00-
162.00, hair sheep 156.00-160.00; 110-120 lbs 154.00-160.00.
Wooled and Shorn Good and Choice 1-3 40-50 lbs 150.00-160.00,

Thin Flesh 90-110 lbs 40.00-52.00, hair sheep 45.00-48.00; 110-
120 lbs 40.00-46.00; 130-160 lbs 30.00-46.00; 160-200 lbs 30.00-
50.00. Cull 1-2 Thin Flesh 90-110 lbs 30.00-40.00; 110-120 lbs

   Slaughter Bucks: 175 lbs 78.00; 210-250 lbs 32.00-66.00. 
                       
   Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, slaughter kid goats
sold mostly 10.00-20.00 higher compared last week. Nanny goats sold
mostly 10.00-20.00 higher. Slaughter billies sold mostly firm compared
to last week. Demand was good for all classes. Slaughter supply
consisted of 60 percent Slaughter Kids, 19 percent Slaughter Nannies,
and 21 percent bucks/billies and wethers. All Goats are sold by the
head on estimated weights.
          
    Slaughter Kids: Selection 1  40-60 lbs 120.00-148.00; 60-80 lbs
140.00-170.00; 80-90 lbs 160.00-170.00; 90-110 lbs 157.00-170.00.
Selection 2 40-60 lbs 100.00-120.00; 60-80 lbs 120.00-140.00; 80-90
lbs 140.00-144.00; 90-110 lbs 140.00-156.00; 110-130 lbs 122.00-157.00.
