Compared to last week, slaughter steers sold 4.00-6.00 higher on a very
light supply. Holsteins traded weak and Heifers firm also on a very limited
supply. Demand was light to moderate, but tight supplies drove the market.
Kosher orders were inactive this week due to the upcoming observance of
Hanukkah. Slaughter cows sold 3.00-5.00 higher with good demand. Slaughter
bulls sold steady on a light test. Cattle supplies included 105 steers; 62
heifers; 377 cows; 12 bulls; and 29 feeder calves. All prices per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1300-1650 lbs 112.00-114.00.
Choice 2-3 1300-1650 lbs 109.00-112.00. Select 1-2 1200-1500 lbs 100.00-
107.00. High Dressing Lean Steers 1500-1600 lbs 112.00-113.50.
Slaughter Holsteins: Choice 2-3 1500-1750 lbs 79.00-82.00. Select 1-2 few
1400-1600 lbs 72.00-78.00.

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to last week, Holstein bull
calves sold steady to 5.00 lower with light demand. Holstein heifer calves
sold mostly 20.00 higher with moderate demand. Ag Market News LLC under the
USDA-QSA-LMAR program graded 385 head for Thursday's sale. All calves are
sold by the cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 114-128 lbs 67.00-70.00; 94-112 lbs
77.00-85.00. Number 2 88-128 lbs 65.00-81.00; 80-86 lbs 60.00. Number 3 90-
130 lbs 62.00-74.00; 72-88 lbs 35.00-50.00. Utility 60-110 lbs 20.00-30.00.
Holstein Heifer Calves: Number 1 85-110 lbs 160.00-200.00. Number 2 70-
95 lbs 80.00-130.00. Utility/Non-tubing 65-80 lbs 20.00-30.00.
