Compared to last week, slaughter steers sold mostly steady with some
weakness noted in High Choice and Prime steers. High dressing Lean Steers
are steers are sold primarily to the ethnic market and most are extremely
lean. Those steers sold mostly steady. Slaughter Holstein steers sold
mostly steady to 1.00 lower. Not enough Slaughter heifers for a market
test. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady with the exception of Breaking
cows which sold 3.00-4.00 lower. Demand was moderate. Slaughter bulls
sold mostly 3.00-5.00 lower on a light test. Cattle supplies included
169 steers; 43 heifers; 358 cows; 26 bulls; and 13 feeder calves. All
prices per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1300-1650 lbs 101.00-
105.00. Choice 2-3 1300-1650 lbs 97.50-102.50. Select 1-2 1200-1600 lbs
93.00-97.00. High Dressing Lean Steers 1200-1700 lbs 97.00-110.00, few
113.00-115.00.
Slaughter Holsteins: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1500-1550 lbs few
96.00-97.00. Choice 2-3 1350-1650 lbs 88.00-93.00. Select 1-2 1200-1700

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to last week, Holstein bull
calves sold 10.00-20.00 higher. No Holstein heifer calves last week so no
comparison. Demand was moderate. Ag Market News LLC under the USDA-QSA-
LMAR program graded 473 head for Thursday's sale. All calves are sold by
the cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 90-128 lbs 80.00-94.00; 80-84
lbs 65.00. Number 2 106-128 lbs 75.00-77.00; 88-104 lbs 82.00-90.00;
80-86 lbs 55.00-70.00. Number 3 100-130 lbs 67.00-70.00; 80-98 lbs
47.00-54.00; 72-78 lbs 38.00. Utility 90-110 lbs 45.00-47.00; 60-88 lbs
