Compared to last week, Slaughter steers sold mostly 1.00-2.00 lower.
High dressing Lean Steers are steers sold primarily to the ethnic market
and most are extremely lean. Today these steers sold mostly 3.00 lower.
Slaughter Holstein steers sold mostly 3.00-5.00 lower. There was a large
number of Holstein steers weighing over 1650 lbs on offer today. These
heavy steers brought a 5.00-10.00/cwt discount. Slaughter Heifers sold
mostly 3.00-5.00 lower on a very light test. Demand was moderate for all
classes. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady to 1.00 higher. Demand was
good. Slaughter bulls sold mostly 4.00-6.00 lower on a light test of
poorer quality offerings. Demand was light. Cattle supplies included
179 steers; 68 heifers; 441 cows; 18 bulls; and 40 feeder calves. All
prices per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: Choice 2-3 1300-1600 lbs 116.00-121.00; 1600-1800
lbs 108.50-116.00. Select 1-3 1300-1600 lbs 112.00-116.00. High Dressing
Lean Steers 114.00-125.00.
Slaughter Holsteins: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1300-1650 lbs few
104.50-106.50; 1650-1800 lbs 97.00-105.00. Choice 2-3 1200-1650 lbs
97.00-104.50; 1650-1850 lbs 91.50-98.50. Select 1-2 1200-1650 lbs 92.00-
98.00; 1650-1800 lbs 86.00-92.00.

calves sold mostly steady to 30.00 lower with instances of 50.00 lower.
Demand was moderate. Holstein heifer calves sold 20.00-50.00 lower. Ag
Market News LLC under the USDA-QSA-LMAR program graded 519 head for
Thursday's sale. All calves are sold by the cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 98-128 lbs 235.00-250.00; 94-
96 lbs 200.00. Number 2 102-128 lbs 225.00-237.00; 94-100 lbs 200.00-
220.00; 80-92 lbs 155.00-175.00. Number 3 72-130 lbs 145.00-154.00, few
177.00. Utility 60-110 lbs 105.00-137.00.
Holstein Heifer Calves: Number 1 70-110 lbs 300.00-360.00. Number 2
90-120 lbs 225.00-300.00; 70-90 lbs 200.00-230.00. Utility/Non-tubing 80-
135 lbs 90.00-160.00; 60-80 lbs 50.00-100.00.
