Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 2/21/2017

Receipts:  2134    Week Ago:  4014    Year Ago:  2013

   Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady with a few spots
2.00-4.00 higher on some heifers. In contrast to last week?s larger strings,
this week?s offering was mostly smaller groups of cattle and buyers had to 
work a little harder to put together loads. Several consignments of fall
born calves showed up this week. Supply and demand were moderate. The feeder
offering consisted of near 57 percent steers and bulls and 43 percent heifers
with 58 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 10 percent of the offering.
Slaughter cows and bulls sold 2.00-5.00 higher.

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1  400-500 lbs 160.50-174.00; 500-600 lbs
