Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 2/14/2017

   Compared to last week, steers sold steady to 5.00 higher with the 
advance on steers weighing 650-800 lbs. Heifers sold mostly steady with
a few spots 2.00-3.00 lower. A heavy supply of feeders was offered made
up of many larger consignments of quality cattle with almost all long
time weaned and a couple rounds of shots. That made for an active market
with good demand throughout the entire sale and the supply was well absorbed
as buyers were pursuing all weights of cattle while the board closed with
modest gains. The feeder offering consisted of near 59 percent steers and
bulls and 41 percent heifers with 70 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls
totaled 4 percent of the offering. Slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 higher.
