   Compared to a light test from last week, steers sold 5.00-11.00
higher and heifers traded mostly steady with spots 5.00-8.00 higher.
Supply was moderate and demand was good. A break in the heat over the
weekend and recent gains in the cattle market made for a nice run of
feeders. The feeder offering consisted of near 61 percent steers and
bulls and 39 percent heifers with 49 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and
bulls totaled 13 percent of the offering. Slaughter cows sold steady.

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1  350-400 lbs 184.00; 400-500
lbs 171.50-190.00; 500-600 lbs 164.00-178.00; 600-700 lbs 160.00-
