Cattleman's Livestock Auction - Dalhart, TX - Thursday - 03/10/16

Cattle and Calves: 1568       Week ago: 1738       Year Ago: 2987            

   Compared to last week:  Steer and heifer calves under 600 lbs steady in a 
limited test on steers and a good test on heifers.  600-700 lb feeder steers 
and heifers 6.00-8.00 higher; over 700 lbs 2.00-4.00 higher.  Receipts on offer 
were mostly yearling feeders off winter wheat and a few off winter grass 
supplemented with protein cubes.  Slaughter cows steady, slaughter bulls not 
well tested.  Trade fairly active.  Demand good.  Bulk of supply Medium and 
Large 1-2 350-950 lb feeder steers and heifers.  Slaughter cows made up 16 
percent, slaughter bulls less than 1 percent, bred cows and pairs less than 1 
percent and feeders 84 percent.  The feeder supply included 62 percent steers 
and 38 percent heifers.  Near 77 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.

   Steers:  Medium and Large 1 pkg 265 lbs 238.00; pkg 375 lbs value added 
230.00; 400-450 lbs value added 222.00-228.00; 450-500 lbs value added 212.50-
219.00; 500-525 lbs 194.00-200.00; few 575-600 lbs 176.00-179.00; 600-650 lbs
