Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for Thursday 02/11/16

Cattle and Calves: 1653       Week ago: 1526       Year Ago: 1234 

   Compared to last week:  Steer and heifer calves under 600 lbs unevenly steady 
with a few packages of thin, pre-conditioned kinds 2.00-3.00 higher and several 
packages of 400-550 lb heifers 3.00-5.00 lower.  Feeder steers over 600 lbs  
2.00-4.00 lower except one offering of four loads of 809 lb steers 1.00 higher; 
feeder heifers over 600 lbs steady to weak in a limited test.
   Slaughter cows and bulls 1.00-2.00 lower, except a few higher dressing kinds 
steady to 1.00 higher.  Trade fairly active on moderate demand.  Bulk of supply 
Medium and Large 1-2 350-900 lb feeder steers and heifers.  Slaughter cows made 
up 19 percent, slaughter bulls less than 1 percent, bred cows and pairs less 
than 1 percent and feeders 81 percent.  The feeder supply included 52 percent 
steers and 48 percent heifers.  Near 61 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.

400 lbs value added 231.00-236.00; 400-450 lbs 210.00-220.00; 450-500 lbs 
205.00-206.50, pkg 460 lbs value added 217.00; pkg 530 lbs 188.00; 550-600 lbs 
174.00-180.00; Yearlings: 600-650 lbs 165.50-170.00; 700-750 lbs 153.00-155.00; 
pkg 815 lbs 150.00, four loads 800 lbs 155.25.
