Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for Thursday 01/14/2016

Cattle and Calves:  1175      Three Weeks ago: 2136       Year Ago:  2504

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers and heifers under 550 lbs firm, 
instance 2.00 higher; over 550 lbs weak to 3.00 lower.  Slaughter cows and
bulls 2.00-3.00 higher.  Trade and demand moderate.  Bulk of supply Medium
and Large 1-2 350-750 lb feeder steers and heifers.  Slaughter cows made up
22 percent, slaughter bulls less than 1 percent, bred cows and pairs less
than 1 percent and feeders 78 percent.  The feeder supply included 73
percent steers and 27 percent heifers.  Near 60 percent of the run weighed
over 600 lbs.

   Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1 pkg 365 lbs value added 227.00, pkg 
385 lbs 219.00; 400-450 lbs 214.00-215.00; pkg 475 lbs 197.00, pkg 495 lbs
value added 207.00; 500-550 lbs 190.00-195.00; 550-600 lbs 167.00-173.00,
pkg 550 lbs 179.00; 600-650 lbs 170.00-173.00, pkg 645 lbs gaunt 179.00,
