Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for Thursday 10/15/2015

Cattle and Calves:  2421         Last Week:  623         Year Ago:  2527

   Compared to last week:  Prices for feeder steers and heifers were mostly
firm with a few pre-conditioned packages under 500 lbs 5.00-10.00 higher. 500-
600 lb steer and heifer calves were 3.00-5.00 lower compared to last weeks
limited receipts and a firmer undertone was noted on 600-950 lb steers and
heifers compared to last weeks limited receipts.  Slaughter cows mostly steady
to weak except higher dressing boner and breaker cows 2.00 higher.  Trade
active.  Demand good.  Bulk of supply Medium and Large 1-2 350-950 lb feeder
steers and heifers.  Slaughter cows made up 21 percent, slaughter bulls less
than 1 percent, bred cows and pairs less than 1 percent and feeders 79 percent.
The feeder supply included 57 percent steers and 43 percent heifers.  Near 52
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.

   Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1 250-300 lbs value added 313.00-315.00; few
pkg 300 lbs 305.00-320.00; 350-400 lbs value added 286.00-291.00, pkg 375 lbs
value added 265.00; 400-500 lbs 217.00-228.00, pkg 410 lbs value added 256.00,
