Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 05/23/13
Receipts: 1,405 Last Week: 4,658 Last Year: 1,649
Compared to last week: Stocker and Feeder cattle lightly tested so trend not
applicable. Feeding cows sold steady to 2.00 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls sold
mostly steady. Demand moderate to good. Approximately, 20 percent stocker and
feeder cattle; 18 percent feeding cows; 6 percent cow/calf pairs; 48 percent
slaughter cows with the balance bred cows, slaughter bulls and misc. cattle. In the
feeder supply, steers made up 13 percent of the run; heifers 87 percent; steers and
heifers over 600 lbs totaled 47 percent. All bred stock sold by the head and pairs
sold per pair, unless otherwise stated. All bred cows and heifers represented to
calve before May 15th, unless otherwise stated.
