Direct Trade:
In the direct slaughter cattle trade in the Five Major Marketing Areas,
Texas/Oklahoma; Kansas; Nebraska; Colorado; Iowa/Minnesota; Thus far on Monday,
negotiated cash trade is at a standstill. The last fully established market was
last week. In the Texas Panhandle, live sales sold at 125.00. In Kansas last
week, live sales sold from 125.00-125.50. In the Northern Plains, live sales
sold at 126.50 with dressed sales in Nebraska selling at 201.00. In the Western
Cornbelt, live sales sold from 124.00-125.50 and dressed sales sold from 198.00-
202.00.

***The Oklahoma National Stockyards will be closed Monday May 27, 2013
for the Memorial Day Holiday. There will be a one day sale on Tuesday
May the 28th. The sale will start at 8:00 am with feeders and calves
and the cows will sell at the end of the sale.***

Compared to last week: Feeder steers are opening 1.00-3.00 lower.
Feeder heifers opening 2.00-5.00 lower in an early light test. Steer and
heifer calves not well tested, however a weak undertone is noted. Demand
moderate for all classes.
