Receipts: 1639 Last Week: 2767 Year Ago: 1174
Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady with
instances 2.00 higher. Trade activity and demand were moderate to good.
Offering included several loads of Medium and Large 1 steers and heifers
weighing 650-900 lbs. Typical May warm temperatures look like they are here to
stay this week with little to no rain in sight. Slaughter cows were steady to
1.00 lower with slaughter bulls not well tested. Slaughter cows and bulls made
up 3 percent, 0 percent replacements and 97 percent feeders. Feeder supply
consisted of 75 percent steers and bulls, 25 percent heifers. Approximately 71
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
