Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, February 16, 2015

Sheep/Lamb Receipts: 1457   Last Monday: 1830   Year Ago: 1897

***Report format change: Traditional markets refer to lambs that are
subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream
outlets. Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter
outside of what would be termed as traditional markets. ***
   
   Compared to last week, slaughter lambs sold mostly 10.00-20.00 higher
on a very light test. Demand was good. Slaughter ewes sold mostly 10.00-
20.00 higher on a very light test. Demand was good. This report does not
include mixed lots of sheep and lambs. Slaughter supply consisted of
80 percent lambs, 20 percent slaughter ewes and bucks. All sheep and lambs
are destined for non-traditional markets. All sheep and lambs are sold by
the hundred weight, on actual weights.
   
    Slaughter Lambs: Non-Traditional Markets: Wooled & Shorn Choice
and Prime 2-3  60-80 lbs hair sheep 230.00-232.00; 80-110 lbs 212.00-
230.00, hair sheep 205.00-245.00. Wooled and Shorn Choice and Prime 3-4
40-60 lbs hair sheep 245.00-310.00; 50-60 lbs 258.00-262.00; 60-80 lbs
265.00-295.00, hair sheep 260.00-295.00; 80-90 lbs hair sheep 240.00-
255.00. Wooled and Shorn Choice 1-3  100-130 lbs 170.00-202.00; 110-130
lbs hair sheep 164.00-180.00; 130-160 lbs 162.00-190.00.
   
   Slaughter Ewes: Good 2-3 110-120 lbs hair sheep 120.00-127.00; 130-140
lbs 94.00-120.00; 140-150 lbs hair sheep 108.00-112.00; 160-180 lbs
92.00-132.00; 200-230 lbs 84.00-104.00. 

   Slaughter Bucks: Few 230-250 lbs 96.00-100.00.
   
   Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, Slaughter Kids sold
mostly 20.00-30.00 higher on a very light test. Demand was good. 
Nannies sold mostly steady. Billies sold mostly steady. Slaughter
supply consisted of 50 percent Slaughter Kids, 30 percent Slaughter 
Nannies, and 20 percent bucks/billies and whethers. All goats are
sold by the head on estimated weights.

190.00-240.00; 70-80 lbs 265.00-295.00; 80-90 lbs 200.00-225.00.

190.00-200.00. Selection 3 40-50 lbs 100.00-120.00; 80-90 lbs 170.00-

    Slaughter Bucks/Billies: Selection 1  130-140 lbs 217.00-235.00;
