***Report format change: Traditional markets refer to lambs
that are subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed
through mainstream outlets. Non-Traditional markets refer to
lambs destined for slaughter outside of what would be termed
as traditional markets. ***
Compared to last week, No comparison due to reporter absence last
week but a higher undertone noted for lambs and ewes. Demand was very
good for the very light supply. This report does not include mixed lots
of sheep and lambs. Slaughter supply consisted of 72 percent lambs,
20 percent slaughter ewes, and 8 percent slaughter bucks. All sheep
and lambs are destined for non-traditional markets. All sheep and lambs
are sold by the hundred weight, on actual weights.
Slaughter Lambs: Non-Traditional Markets: Wooled & Shorn Choice
and Prime 2-3 50-70 lbs 280.00-300.00; 70-80 lbs 280.00-305.00;
80-90 lbs 255.00-290.00; 90-110 lbs 225.00-240.00; 120-130 lbs
202.00-210.00. Wooled and Shorn Choice and Prime 3-4 60-70 lbs
300.00-325.00; 90-110 lbs 262.00-270.00. Wooled and Shorn Good and
Choice 1-3 40-60 lbs 260.00-280.00; 100-110 lbs 165.00-228.00;

Slaughter Ewes: Good 2-3 Medium Flesh 120-160 lbs 130.00-157.00.
Utility 1-2 120-200 lbs 110.00-127.00.
Slaughter Bucks: 170-200 lbs 120.00-132.00; 200-250 lbs 90.00-
130.00.
Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, Slaughter Kids sold 40.00-
50.00 higher on a very light test. Demand was very good. Nannies sold
mostly 30.00-40.00 higher on a very light test. Billies sold firm.
Slaughter supply consisted of 70 percent Slaughter Kids, 20 percent
Slaughter Nannies, and 10 percent bucks/billies and whethers. All goats
are sold by the head on estimated weights.
Slaughter Kids: Selection 1 40-60 lbs 200.00-220.00; 60-80 lbs
210.00-270.00; 80-100 lbs 245.00-260.00. Selection 2 40-60 lbs 145.00-
160.00; 60-80 lbs 170.00-190.00. Selection 3 40-60 lbs 120.00-140.00;
60-80 lbs 160.00-170.00.
Slaughter Nannies/Does: Selection 1 90-100 lbs 250.00-260.00;
130-140 lbs 215.00-225.00. Selection 2 90-120 lbs 205.00-245.00.
Slaughter Bucks/Billies: Selection 1 160-180 lbs 285.00-377.00.
