Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter outside of what
would be termed as traditional markets. ***
Sheep and Lambs: Compared to last week, Slaughter lambs traded mostly sharply
lower on lambs under 60 lbs, while heavier lambs were steady to weak. Demand was
very good at the beginning of the sale, but as buyers filled orders demand fell
towards the end of the sale. Slaughter ewes traded mostly steady to firm on good
demand. Slaughter supply consisted of 76 percent lambs, and 24 percent slaughter ewes.
All sheep and lambs are destined for non-traditional markets. All sheep and lambs are
sold by the hundred weight, on actual weights.

Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, slaughter kids and nannies
sold unevenly steady with moderate demand. Slaughter bucks trended steady to
firm on light compareable sales and moderate demand. Slaughter supply consisted
of 56 percent Slaughter Kids, 35 percent Slaughter Nannies, and 9 percent
bucks/billies and whethers. All Goats are sold by the head on estimated weights.
