Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, June 24, 2013

Sheep/Lamb Receipts: 2450    Last Monday: 2750    Year Ago: 2898

subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream
outlets. Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter
outside of what would be termed as traditional markets. ***

   Sheep and Lambs: When compared to last week, slaughter lambs
sold mostly steady to 10.00 lower. Slaughter ewes traded steady.
Demand was moderate for all classes. Slaughter supply consisted
of 80 percent lambs, 14 percent slaughter ewes, and 6 percent
miscellaneous stock. All sheep and lambs are destined for
non-traditional markets. All sheep and lambs are sold by the
hundred weight,on actual weights.

   Slaughter Lambs: Non-Traditional Markets: Wooled & Shorn
Choice and Prime 2-3 50-60 lbs 157.00-158.00. Wooled and Shorn
Good and Choice 1-3 40-60 lbs 128.00-150.00; 50-60 lbs hair
sheep 132.00-135.00; 60-80 lbs 116.00-135.00, hair sheep
116.00-130.00; 80-110 lbs 116.00-142.00, hair sheep 110.00-
120.00; 110-150 lbs 116.00-124.00. Wooled and Shorn Utility
and Good 1-2 40-60 lbs 100.00-115.00, hair sheep 118.00-122.00;
60-80 lbs hair sheep 102.00-116.00; 70-80 lbs 108.00-116.00;
80-110 lbs 90.00-114.00, hair sheep 102.00-110.00; 110-120 lbs
97.00-99.00.

   Slaughter Ewes: Good 2-3 Medium Flesh 100-110 lbs 54.00-66.00;
130-140 lbs hair sheep 62.00-76.00; 160-190 lbs 54.00-68.00;
200-210 lbs 48.00-54.00. Utility 1-2 Thin Flesh 110-120 lbs
47.00-49.00, hair sheep 46.00-58.00; 130-160 lbs 38.00-54.00;
160-200 lbs 39.00-54.00; 200-250 lbs 36.00-46.00. Cull 1-2
140-170 lbs 20.00-36.00.   

   Slaughter Bucks: 100-160 lbs 52.00-82.00; 125-160 lbs hair
sheep 54.00-70.00; 170-180 lbs 56.00-62.00; 200-250 lbs 50.00-
54.00. 
                       
   Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, slaughter kid
goats sold mostly 10.00-20.00 lower. Slaughter Nanny goats
sold mostly steady. Slaughter billies sold steady. Demand
was moderate for all classes. Slaughter supply consisted of
58 percent Slaughter Kids, 34 percent Slaughter Nannies, and
8 percent bucks/billies and wethers. All Goats are sold by the
head on estimated weights.
          
    Slaughter Kids: Selection 1  40-60 lbs 117.00-150.00; 60-80
lbs 120.00-162.00; 80-110 lbs 135.00-178.00; 110-120 lbs 167.00-
186.00. Selection 2 40-60 lbs 96.00-116.00; 60-80 lbs 96.00-
117.00; 80-110 lbs 122.00-132.00; 110-120 lbs 145.00-152.00.
Selection 3 40-60 lbs 47.00-84.00; 60-80 lbs 74.00-92.00.   

    Slaughter Nannies/Does: Selection 1 100-125 lbs 150.00-195.00;
