Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, May 20, 2013

subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream
outlets. Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter
outside of what would be termed as traditional markets. ***

   Sheep and Lambs: When compared to last week, slaughter lambs sold
mostly steady to 10.00 lower. Slaughter ewes traded 5.00-10.00 lower.
Demand was moderate for all classes. Slaughter supply consisted of
78 percent lambs, 16 percent slaughter ewes, and 6 percent
miscellaneous stock. All sheep and lambs are destined for
non-traditional markets. All sheep and lambs are sold by the hundred
weight,on actual weights.

   Slaughter Lambs: Non-Traditional Markets: Wooled & Shorn
Choice and Prime 2-3 40-60 lbs 162.00-195.00, hair sheep 156.00-
165.00; 60-80 lbs 157.00-160.00; 80-90 lbs 162.00-170.00. Wooled
and Shorn Good and Choice 1-3 40-60 lbs 148.00-162.00, hair sheep
144.00-156.00; 60-80 lbs 142.00-156.00, hair sheep 137.00-148.00;
80-100 lbs 145.00-158.00, hair sheep 138.00-140.00; 90-125 lbs
135.00-150.00. Wooled and Shorn Utility and Good 1-2 40-60 lbs
138.00-146.00, hair sheep 135.00-142.00; 60-80 lbs 124.00-134.00,
hair sheep 122.00-134.00; 80-110 lbs 122.00-134.00, hair sheep
120.00-137.00; 110-130 lbs 120.00-132.00; 130-150 lbs 112.00-124.00.

   Slaughter Ewes: Good 2-3 Medium Flesh 100-110 lbs 58.00-72.00,
hair sheep 65.00-78.00; 110-150 lbs 64.00-80.00, hair sheep 62.00-
82.00. Utility 1-2 Thin Flesh 100-110 lbs 58.00-60.00, hair sheep
53.00-60.00; 110-150 lbs 38.00-54.00, hair sheep 40.00-54.00; 160-
200 lbs 38.00-52.00; 200-250 lbs 34.00-58.00. 

   Slaughter Bucks: 150-200 lbs 50.00-92.00; 200-250 lbs 40.00-45.00. 
                       
   Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, slaughter kid goats
sold mostly 10.00-20.00 lower. Slaughter Nanny goats sold mostly
10.00-20.00 higher. Slaughter billies sold 10.00-20.00 higher.
Demand was good for all classes. Slaughter supply consisted of
50 percent Slaughter Kids, 39 percent Slaughter Nannies, and 11
percent bucks/billies and wethers. All Goats are sold by the head
on estimated weights.
          
    Slaughter Kids: Selection 1  40-60 lbs 130.00-145.00; 60-80 lbs
155.00-180.00; 80-90 lbs 152.00-175.00; 90-110 lbs 150.00-170.00.
Selection 2 40-60 lbs 94.00-120.00; 60-80 lbs 117.00-145.00; 80-90
lbs 110.00-160.00; 90-110 lbs 128.00-147.00. Selection 3 40-60 lbs
68.00-88.00; 60-80 lbs 87.00-109.00.   

    Slaughter Nannies/Does: Selection 1 100-125 lbs 177.00-215.00;
130-155 lbs 162.00-197.00. Selection 2  90-125 lbs 152.00-170.00;
130-140 lbs 132.00-140.00. Selection 3 60-80 lbs 50.00-85.00; 80-
