Compared to last week, Slaughter steers sold steady to 2.00 higher.
Demand was moderate. High dressing Lean Steers are steers sold primarily
to the ethnic market and most are extremely lean. Those steers sold 2.00-
3.00 higher on good demand. Slaughter Holstein steers not tested last week
so no trend reported. Slaughter Heifers sold mostly steady on a very light
test. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady to 1.00 lower. Slaughter bulls sold
3.00-4.00 higher. The ethnic buyers were active in the market making the
very high dressing bulls sharply higher. Demand was good. Cattle supplies
included 169 slaughter steers; 78 heifers; 303 cows; 72 bulls and 112 feeder
cattle. All prices quoted per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1300-1600 lbs 110.00-112.00.
Choice 2-3 1250-1600 lbs 105.00-110.00. Select 1-2 1250-1600 lbs 102.00-
105.50. High Dressing Lean Steers 108.00-130.00.

65-110 lbs 70.00-90.00. Number 3 65-110 lbs 50.00-70.00. Utility 60-95
lbs 20.00-50.00.
